Traditionally, SmartLabs offers to service providers and broadcasters solutions for audio and video content distribution based on cutting-edge development initiatives and standards. Thus, the current stage of standard hardware platforms and software encoding technologies development allows now to use software encoders based on x86 server platforms for high-quality and high-performance real-time encoding instead of expensive hardware encoders.
SmartENCODER – a software-based encoder for online/offline content coding from SDI or IP source into MPEG-4 H.264 AVC. X86 standard servers are used for a hardware platform, and the encoder performance allows to encode video streams into high-quality MPEG-4 H.264 AVC SD in real time (SD – standard definition 720x576, up to 2,5 Mb/sec).
