SmartTUBE SDP—a converged service delivery platform for interactive television over fixed (IPTV, DVB, hybrid) and wireless (DVB-H, 3G, WiFi, WiMax, etc.) networks with TV broadcasting, , PPV, PVR/nPVR, VoD/nVoD, IM, e-mail, Internet access, and other services.

SmartTUBE SDP architecture

АSmartTUBE SDP client application architecture’s initially created assuming wide range of existing and new client STBs and other devices support.

SmartTUBE SDP consists on server-side (SDP Core and SDP UI Loader), which is responsible for interactive services delivery and overall solution integration and interoperability, and also for UI components delivery to STBs and client application, and UI client applications (Client SDP API and Client UI API) who generate UI on client devices and applications and responsible for data exchange between UI and server-side.

SDP Core provides:

An access to all multimedia interactive services (TV broadcast, PPV, PVR/nPVR, VoD/nVoD, messaging, e-mail, Internet access and others);
User authentication and service management, billing and statistics;
Information security and access right management;
o With SDP Integration API – interoperability with other solution components (VoD systems, CAS/DRM platforms, OSS/BSS systems, other service platforms, i.e. communication, messaging, etc.

SDP UI Loader provides UI delivery and loading mechanisms into end-user devices and applications.
Client UI API has a list of standard UI components and their descriptors and APIs for different client platforms, i.e. Qtopia, GTK+, JavaScript, MHP, Flash, OpenTV for UI generation and development.
Client SDP API communicates with SDP and provides data exchange (EPG, available services, etc.), user authentication, etc.
